How to make an ATM10 server (All the Mods 10)

Updated 28 Sep 2026 · 4 min read

The short answer

An ATM10 server runs NeoForge 21.1.251 on Minecraft 1.21.1 with Java 21, and needs about 12 GB of memory, because the pack asks Java for 8 GB. Use ATM's own server files, or let Playkeeper install version 8.2 from CurseForge, five restricted mods included.

ATM10 updates every few weeks: 8.0 came out on 14 Aug, 8.1 on 29 Aug and 8.2 on 22 Sep. The server and every player need the same version.

2How much memory ATM10 needs

12 GB for a few friends. ATM's server files set -Xmx8G in user_jvm_args.txt, the most Java may use. NeoForge and 464 mods need memory beside that, so Playkeeper suggests 12 GB, which gives Java 8.3 GB.

  • Less fails. On a test machine on 27 Sep, ATM10 8.2 with 4 GB stopped on its first start with "Java ran out of memory".
  • 12 GB works. The same server was online about 80 seconds after it started, using 10.2 GB.
  • More friends: ATM's own guide asks for 12 GB of heap or more for several players, so give 5 or more friends 24 GB.

3The one-click way

Playkeeper runs your server on a VPS you rent. Install it with one command:

curl -fsSL https://playkeeper.io/install | sudo sh
  1. Search New server › A modpack

Type All the Mods 10. It comes from CurseForge, with its loader and the memory it needs.

  2. Create and start it

The memory starts at 12 GB. Playkeeper downloads the pack's 1.4 GB from CurseForge, and ATM's 1.2 GB server files for the five restricted mods, checking each file against CurseForge's hash.

  3. Wait for the first start

About 80 seconds on the 27 Sep test machine, then the Overview shows it online.

New server, starting from a modpack: the most downloaded packs, each with its loader, Minecraft version, mods and the memory it needs.

4The five mods other apps can't download

ATM10 8.2 lists five mods that other apps can't download from CurseForge:

  • Corail Tombstone, Structory, Structory: Towers and I'm Fast. Their authors allow downloads through the CurseForge app only.
  • CC Tweaked Compat. It's gone from CurseForge, though the pack still lists it.

Tools that install from the pack's list stop at these. ATM's server files have all five, so Playkeeper takes them from there, each checked against the SHA-1 CurseForge lists for it.

5By hand, with ATM's server files

Download ServerFiles-8.2.zip (1.2 GB, 464 mods) from the pack's files on CurseForge. It has a start script that installs NeoForge 21.1.251 the first time it runs.

# Java 21, then the server files in ./atm10
sudo apt install -y openjdk-21-jre-headless unzip
unzip ServerFiles-8.2.zip -d atm10 && cd atm10
echo "eula=true" > eula.txt
ATM10_RESTART=false sh startserver.sh # installs NeoForge, then starts
  • Memory is in user_jvm_args.txt: raise -Xmx8G for more friends, and leave the machine some for NeoForge.
  • Restarts: the script starts the server again after it stops, unless ATM10_RESTART is false.
  • Java: anything older than 21 stops it with "Minecraft 1.21 requires Java 21". ATM10_JAVA picks another Java.

6The settings ATM10 expects

ATM's start script writes these to server.properties on a new server:

SettingValueWhy
allow-flighttrueJetpacks and flight items would get players kicked for flying.
view-distance8Less land sent to each player.
simulation-distance5Fewer machines and mobs running at once.
max-tick-time180000A long tick doesn't stop the server for 3 minutes.

In Playkeeper, set view distance in the server's Settings and the others in server.properties on the Files tab. Pre-generating the world, on the World tab, also keeps exploring from slowing everyone down.

7Friends join with the same version

Players install All the Mods 10 8.2 in the CurseForge app or Prism Launcher, then join your server's address. A player on another version is turned away with a list of the mods that don't match.

In Playkeeper, Share with friends on the Mods tab makes a page with the pack's version and their launcher's steps.

The page friends open: the server's versions, the pack file to download and their launcher's steps.

Questions

How much RAM does an ATM10 server need?

About 12 GB for a few friends: the pack gives Java 8 GB, and NeoForge with 464 mods needs memory beside it. Give 5 or more friends 24 GB.

Is ATM10 Forge or NeoForge?

NeoForge. Version 8.2 runs NeoForge 21.1.251 on Minecraft 1.21.1.

Which Java does an ATM10 server need?

Java 21. ATM's start script stops on anything older, and Playkeeper runs the server on Java 21 for you.

Where are the ATM10 server files?

On the pack's CurseForge page, under its files: ServerFiles-8.2.zip, 1.2 GB. Playkeeper doesn't need them from you.

How do I update an ATM10 server?

Back up the world first, then move the server and every player to the new version together. Playkeeper's Back up now keeps players on while it copies.

ATM10 on your own server, in one click.

Free and open source. Playkeeper sizes the server for the pack and fetches every mod.
