How to make a skyblock server

The short answer

On a skyblock server, every player or team starts on a small island floating in the void and builds out from there. This template runs Iridium Skyblock 4.1.5 on Paper 26.2, with VaultUnlocked and WorldEdit, which it needs to start and to place islands. Players make their own island with /is create.

2Why it brings two more plugins

  • VaultUnlocked: Iridium Skyblock won't load without Vault. Its Modrinth page doesn't say so, and our first check failed with "Unknown/missing dependency plugins: [Vault]". VaultUnlocked provides Vault.
  • WorldEdit: islands are .schem files, and its config pastes them with WorldEdit.

3Islands, levels and upgrades

From the files Iridium Skyblock wrote on the test server:

  • Three island types, desert, jungle and mushroom, each with its own Nether and End island.
  • Islands sit 151 blocks apart in their own void world, called IridiumSkyblock, and PvP is off on them.
  • The Nether opens at island level 10 and the End at level 20. Islands level up as they earn experience.

    Your dashboard shows the three plugins, in the order they install, before anything happens.

  2. Create and start it

    Iridium Skyblock makes its void world on the first start.

  3. Join and type /is create

    Pick an island type, then invite friends with /is invite.

Questions

What's a good skyblock plugin for Minecraft 26.2?

Iridium Skyblock 4.1.5 started cleanly on Paper 26.2 in our check, with VaultUnlocked and WorldEdit. BentoBox's BSkyBlock has no build for 26.2 yet.

Why won't Iridium Skyblock load?

Most often, Vault is missing. Add VaultUnlocked, which this template brings, and restart.

Can friends share an island?

Yes: /is invite adds a member, and upgrades raise how many an island can have.

How much RAM does a skyblock server need?

4 GB for a small group, as this template sets. For 5 to 10 players at once, the sizing guide gives 8 GB.
